(Well, maybe that&#8217;s a bit over-dramatized, but you get the point).</p>
<p>How about this &#8211; AppMakr.com allows you to create content based iPhone applications in under 30 seconds!</p>
<p>Yes, 30 seconds!</p>
<p>From the official <a href="http://www.prweb.com/releases/PointAbout/AppMakr/prweb3403134.htm" target="_blank">press release</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>AppMakr offers, for the first time, a “What You See is What You Get” WSYWIG interface for creating a fully native iPhone application. Users can enter a website URL or keywords and AppMakr will create a sample iPhone app in under 30 seconds built from that content.</p>
<p>Users can then customize the iPhone application by:</p>
<p>1. Adding content feeds, including Twitter, RSS, iTunes podcast, Flickr, YouTube, Blogger, mp4, and others</p>
<p>2. Changing the app’s branding, including the icon, splash screen, tab icons, header image, and text colors</p>
<p>3. Monetizing the app by charging for it on iTunes, or by adding ads from AdMob, Medialets, DoubleClick and Google AdSense</p>
<p>Publishing the app to the iTunes App Store is as easy as choosing between two options:</p>
<p>· The Easy Way: AppMakr publishes your app for $199</p>
<p>· You&#8217;re In Control: Publish under your own brand for $499.</p>
<p>Full pricing details are available http://www.AppMakr.com/pricing</p></blockquote>
<p>Amazing! Watch the <a href="http://www.appmakr.com/learn_more/" target="_blank">video demo</a></p>

<p>This is truly a great thing. The last few months have been quite a task as we have been working hard not only to develop the applications but also <em>to make the process of making them from Africa work</em>. This has not been a small task but a worthwhile one as we have gone through several iterations trying to get things right for this first application.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.africanpixel.com/apps.html"><img class="aligncenter" title="AppsMadeInAfrica" src="http://africanpixel.com/images/made-in-africa.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="65" /></a></p>
<p>Ok, enough with the mushy stuff &#8211; what&#8217;s the app? what does it do? where do I get it?</p>
<p>Well, essentially there are two applications in the app store which are actually the same application&#8230; huh? Well we have one application that we call iScribe, and a &#8216;Lite&#8217; version of the same (called &#8216;iScribeLite&#8217; &#8211; duh).</p>
<p>The Lite version is fully functional just like the &#8216;full&#8217; application. So you can do the same thing with iScribeLite as you can do with iScribe. There are only two differences between the two:</p>
<ol>
<li><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iscribe-lite/id347259847?mt=8" target="_blank">iScribeLite</a> is FREE</li>
<li><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iscribe-lite/id347259847?mt=8" target="_blank">iScribeLite</a> has embedded ads which <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iscribe/id347372429?mt=8" target="_blank">iScribe</a> does not have</li>
</ol>
<p>So whichever app you get, you enjoy the full features available.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4021/4224223525_2f2c3089af.jpg" alt="iscribe_iphone by you." width="260" height="500" /></p>
<form id="blog_form" style="visibility: hidden; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;" action="/blog.gne" method="post"></form>
<h2 style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-weight: bold; font-style: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: #828282; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">What is it?</h2>
<p>Well, <em>Simply put, iScibe is a story telling/editing/publising app.</em></p>
<p>iScribe brings old school journaling to the new age of mobility and the internet. Making it simple to capture life&#8217;s moments in a fun way and on the move. You don&#8217;t have to wait to get back home to record the experience. You can capture it as it happens – in text, voice, images and video! Get all aspects of your experience as it happens!</p>
<p>Write your entry; add photos to capture the moment. Record conversations or audio snippets, take video clips and add them to your ‘journal’ entry. At the end of the day share it out to friends and family by email or to the web for the world</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter" title="iScribe Entry" src="http://africanpixel.com/images/iscribe.jpg" alt="" width="234" height="450" /></p>
<h2 style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-weight: bold; font-style: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: #828282; text-align: center; padding: 0px;"><img class="alignnone" title="iScribeLite Entry" src="http://africanpixel.com/images/iscribelite.jpg" alt="" width="234" height="450" /></h2>
<h2 style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-weight: bold; font-style: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: #828282; text-align: center; padding: 0px;">(More screenshots available on <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/46014369@N07/" target="_blank">Flickr</a>)</h2>
<h2 style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-weight: bold; font-style: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: #828282; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">Who is it for?</h2>
<p>Basically, if you can find stories to share from your life and your life experiences, it&#8217;s for you! (That basically means, everyone who&#8217;s alive)</p>
<h2 style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-weight: bold; font-style: inherit; font-size: 14px; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; color: #828282; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">How does it work?</h2>
<p>Well, simply, type text, take photos or videos, press a button to record and play back audio recordings, save your stuff, press another button to share online or by email and voila! Watch the demo video below (eeeh.. sorry for the lighting)<br />
<object id="zoopy-video" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="470" height="352" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="flashvars" value="id=123759" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="all" /><param name="src" value="http://media.z2.zoopy.com/video-offsite.swf" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed id="zoopy-video" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="470" height="352" src="http://media.z2.zoopy.com/video-offsite.swf" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="all" bgcolor="#000000" quality="high" flashvars="id=123759"></embed></object></p>
<p>So go ahead and get the app for yourself and tell your stories, share life! &#8211; <em><strong>Because story telling is not just African, it&#8217;s Human!</strong></em></p>
