It is with great pleasure that African Pixel today announces it’s first two apps for the iPhone that are now in the iTunes AppStore!
This is truly a great thing. The last few months have been quite a task as we have been working hard not only to develop the applications but also to make the process of making them from Africa work. This has not been a small task but a worthwhile one as we have gone through several iterations trying to get things right for this first application.
Ok, enough with the mushy stuff – what’s the app? what does it do? where do I get it?
Well, essentially there are two applications in the app store which are actually the same application… huh? Well we have one application that we call iScribe, and a ‘Lite’ version of the same (called ‘iScribeLite’ – duh).
The Lite version is fully functional just like the ‘full’ application. So you can do the same thing with iScribeLite as you can do with iScribe. There are only two differences between the two:
- iScribeLite is FREE
- iScribeLite has embedded ads which iScribe does not have
So whichever app you get, you enjoy the full features available.

What is it?
Well, Simply put, iScibe is a story telling/editing/publising app.
iScribe brings old school journaling to the new age of mobility and the internet. Making it simple to capture life’s moments in a fun way and on the move. You don’t have to wait to get back home to record the experience. You can capture it as it happens – in text, voice, images and video! Get all aspects of your experience as it happens!
Write your entry; add photos to capture the moment. Record conversations or audio snippets, take video clips and add them to your ‘journal’ entry. At the end of the day share it out to friends and family by email or to the web for the world

Who is it for?
Basically, if you can find stories to share from your life and your life experiences, it’s for you! (That basically means, everyone who’s alive)
How does it work?
Well, simply, type text, take photos or videos, press a button to record and play back audio recordings, save your stuff, press another button to share online or by email and voila! Watch the demo video below (eeeh.. sorry for the lighting)
So go ahead and get the app for yourself and tell your stories, share life! – Because story telling is not just African, it’s Human!
